Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Business Model Canvas?

A Business Model Canvas (BMC) is a strategic management template for developing new or documenting existing business models. Created by Alexander Osterwalder, it consists of 9 building blocks: Customer Segments, Value Propositions, Channels, Customer Relationships, Revenue Streams, Key Resources, Key Activities, Key Partners, and Cost Structure.

How do I use this tool?

Click the "+ Add" button in any block to add items. Click on existing items to edit or delete them. Use the Guided Mode button to walk through each block in the recommended strategic order, with helpful prompts along the way.

Is this tool free? Do I need to sign up?

Yes, this tool is completely free with no signup required. Your data is stored locally in your browser's storage, so it stays private on your device.

Can I save multiple business models?

Yes! Use the "+" button next to the project dropdown to create new canvases. You can switch between them, rename them, or delete them as needed.

How do I export or share my canvas?

Click Export PDF to download a print-ready PDF of your canvas. Use Backup to save your data as a JSON file, which you can restore later or share with others using the Restore button.

What happens to my data?

All your data stays in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to any server. This means your business models are private, but also means clearing your browser data will delete them - so use the Backup feature regularly!
